“I don’t think I’ve got any more beatdowns left in me boys.”
Had quite a busy weekend with shows and writing new Ark stuff. Thursday was CCHC returning after chilling through the summer. Bitter End were really good but I was disappointed they didn’t any of the harder songs off the new record. Guilty As Charged has been on heavy rotation, one of my favourite records of the year. Deal With It were awesome. Band of the night for me.
Wiretap played the Canterbury show the next day which started off well - me and J-tap hit up Café 37 to get a manly breakfast and read if Peter Crouch has tried to impress any more teenage girls with his ‘robot dance’. I showed unbelievable restraint when Marcus pulled his Torres book out, by not throwing it off the Severn Bridge. Then we hit the M25. How can a motorway with 6 lanes be gridlocked when there is no reason for it? Worst road ever. The show had its ups and downs to say the least! It was a release show of sorts for our split with Breaking Point who happen to have one of the best shirts of the year. Get the split from http://www.purgatoryrecords.bigcartel.com/ I think the release show covers that AlexB did for the Le Pub show and the ones for the Canterbury show are available on there too.
Ark of the Covenant are recording for our split with Abolition on Carry the Weight Records on the weekend and a compilation 7”. After listening to ‘Cursed’ by Racetraitor a few times, we wrote a new song today. I shouldn’t need to say anything else about that.
Though, one of the funniest things I saw all weekend was Pepé Reina chucking the ball into his own net.
